Valentine’s Day is around the corner and while we humans are searching for the perfect way to tell our family and friends how much we love them, it’s also important for our animals to know we care. There are things you can do to make sure your animals know how much you love them.

  1. Feed them nutritious and delicious food! The importance of an animal’s diet can never be overlooked. Your animals won’t appreciate (or tolerate) a box of chocolates, but you can show them you love them with food. Feedex Organic Livestock Feed helps you keep your animals healthy and happy. Our delicious Organic Cattle Feed, Organic Horse Feed, Organic Goat Feed, Organic Poultry Feed and Organic Fish Feed are made using our unique horizontal steam conditioning process which produces steam-flaked grains with a higher starch yield. This helps your animals keep their weight up, so they are well-fed and happy.
  2. Maintain your herd health! When you have a veterinarian come to check on a sick animal, make sure precautions are taken to prevent the spread of disease from one farm to another. Proper nutrition also plays a large part in herd health.
  3. Make home sweet home, sweet. Animals can become stressed when handled or restrained. It’s best to acclimate animals early to being handled. This way, when they need care, they aren’t as stressed by the situation. Sometimes living conditions can make an animal stressed as well. Be sure to follow guidelines on proper design for corrals and pens. Don’t overcrowd corrals and make sure animals have access to fresh air. Be sure to keep pastures clear of mud puddles where pathogens can grow. Provide adequate shelter for your animals to protect them from the weather and from predators.

While you won’t be sending flowers to your animals on Valentine’s Day, they know you appreciate them when you make taking care of their basic needs high on your priority list.
